Art snobs get over yourselves! Apes need a color theory course? You need a life!

Perhaps a better test, so as not to humiliate the cognocenti who prowl your pages, would be an Ape vs Elephant art test. In either case both are more affordable, and arguably more pleasing, that the abstract expressionists who we all must love or be branded merely "modern".

In 1982 James Ehmann (a journalist) and David Gucwa (a zoo keeper) showed to Jerome Witkin (a professor of art at Syracuse University and an authority on abstract expressionism) a set of drawings done by an elephant. They did not reveal to Prof. Witkin the identity of the artist and asked him to evaluate the pictures.
