Title: There is a pattern and difference in style.
Post by: Cucaracho on December 21, 2005, 04:06:49 PM
Hi. English is not my native language nor I have read Dickens but I took the test anyway.
My score was 13%, there are indeed two different writing styles there, I just thought the bad one was Dickens lol.

This post is about the Great prose or not? (http://reverent.org/bulwer-dickens.html) quiz --admin

Why did you think that the bad one was Dickens? Or, may be, you did not think it bad when you did the test, and only realized it after you learned that it was Bulwer-Lytton?

About 0.3% of quiz-takers get everything right. This is ten times more than what random guessing would give. However, another 0.3% get averything wrong. This suggests that there is a difference in style, but there is no difference in quality.
