I got 90%, mostly due to my familiarity with Maestro Salieri's music. That Mozart guy's stuff wasn't too bad. Perhaps I'll give him a listen someday.

Ha,I got 100 %- this was fun. I simply think Salieri really is a tragic composer-and it's not that hard to hear. He's not very much helped by a horrible singer like Bartoli, though.  :( Mozart on the other hand, clearly rises above such bad musicianship!

It really isn't all that hard to distinguish Salieri from Mozart. :)

First, most of the Mozart is immediately recogisable.  Even if, say, you can't recall his piano concerto no. 18 (the last piece), as I didn't, it sounds like Mozart.

Second, Salieri may be a pleasant composer, but to mistake his piano concertos for Mozart is inexcusable.  The orchestration is plodding, the lyrical line missing, the flair non-existent.

That being said, the opera pieces were not altogether unpleasing. :-P

No. All tests I have a here: Reverent Quizzes.

There exists an opinion that some of music, attributed to Mozart, was in reality written by Michael Haydn (younger brother of Franz Josef Haydn).
